Thermal printer buying guide for Flipkart & Amazon sellers
Both Flipkart Seller Hub and Amazon Easy Ship generate 4×6 / 100×150 mm shipping labels. The printer you buy should be judged on five practical things, not just price.

Connection type
USB is the simplest and most reliable choice for a single desktop setup. A network or Wi-Fi printer is worth the extra cost only if labels are prepared on a different computer from where printing happens — for example a small back-room packing station.
Print width and DPI
Look for native support of 4-inch (104 mm) media at 203 DPI — the standard resolution for AWB barcodes across Flipkart, Amazon, and most Indian couriers. 300 DPI printers exist but mainly help with dense graphics, not barcode or address text; they cost more without a real benefit for shipping labels.
Direct thermal vs thermal transfer
Direct thermal (no ribbon) is the standard choice for shipping labels — lower running cost, and the sticker itself is heat-sensitive so there is nothing to restock but paper. Thermal transfer (with a ribbon) exists for labels that must resist heat, sunlight, or scratching over a long shelf life — unnecessary for a parcel sticker that is scanned within days.
Driver support on Windows and macOS
Buy models with a maintained, currently downloadable driver — most Indian sellers print from Windows. Brands commonly used for marketplace shipping include TSC, TVS, Rongta, and Honeywell. Check the manufacturer’s driver page before buying, not just the specs on the box; an old or discontinued driver is a common source of “label prints wrong size” problems later.
Roll size and gap sensor
4×6 inch / 100×150 mm rolls are standard for both Flipkart and Amazon shipping labels. Confirm the printer’s gap or black-mark sensor matches your roll’s label-separation style — a mismatch is why some printers work fine for the first few labels, then drift out of alignment.
Once you have the printer
For Flipkart-specific driver settings, see Flipkart thermal printer settings. To turn a Seller Hub PDF into a printer-ready page, use the Flipkart shipping label cropper — it currently processes Flipkart PDFs. The same 4×6 thermal printing principles above apply regardless of which marketplace generated the label.
